About Nook Office

I am Tom Mitchell, a self-employed marketing analyst who has worked from a home office for more than eight years. I was remote well before 2020. Over time my workspace turned into a quiet lab where I try standing desks, ergonomic chairs, laptops and desktops, tablets and phones, Stream Deck automations, wireless peripherals, and both Mac and Windows setups. I care about the routines that keep a person healthy and focused when home and work share the same walls.

Nook Office exists to distill that experience into simple steps you can use in a small corner or a full room.

What you will get here

  • Clear ergonomics. Practical guidance for desk height, chair fit, monitor placement, lighting, and sound.
  • Gear that proves itself. Desks, chairs, computers, monitors, webcams, microphones, and accessories tested during real client work.
  • Friction-free systems. Time blocking, Stream Deck shortcuts, automation, and distraction control that reduce effort.
  • Health that lasts. Movement breaks, stretch routines, eye care, and sleep friendly habits that support long weeks at home.

How I test

I assemble the gear, route the cables, and live with each item through full projects. I log comfort, stability, heat, noise, reliability, and upkeep. When something excels I explain why and who it suits. When it disappoints I say so and show alternatives.

Independence and support

Some articles include affiliate links. They help pay for long term testing and replacement units. Links do not change conclusions. The goal is trustworthy, repeatable advice you can put to work today.

A note from the nook

Your office can be calm, ergonomic, and ready when you sit down. If you have a tight space, a stubborn pain point, or an odd layout, send a message. I read every note and I am happy to help.
